About MyCrashReport
Last updated October 26, 2026
MyCrashReport helps people find the crash record their state published after a crash, and the steps to request the officer's report.
Who we are
MyCrashReport is operated by My Crash Report LLC, a private company. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with any state department of transportation, motor vehicle department or police department. Contact details are on the Contact page.
What we publish
We publish crash data that states and cities release to the public, such as the TxDOT CRIS public extract in Texas and CHP's statewide data in California. The full list, with how often each one is refreshed, is on Data sources. We reproduce what the agency recorded without alteration, and we leave out names, license plates and driver's license numbers.
When a crash is not in the data yet, we say so. We do not guess at missing details and we do not label anyone as being to blame.
How the site is paid for
Reading crash records is free and needs no account. The site is paid for by legal advertising: participating law firms pay to be offered to people who ask for a consultation after a crash. We are not a law firm or a lawyer referral service, we do not evaluate cases and we do not recommend firms. The details are on Disclosures and Partner attorneys.
Taking a record down
If a record concerns you, you can ask us to remove it from this site on Remove a record. The state's own records are kept by the state.
