How to get your Kentucky crash report

Who can get the report

We could not confirm a published eligibility list from the Kentucky State Police, whose page could not be checked. Local agency pages describe the parties involved in the crash, their insurers, vehicle owners, parents of minors and attorneys as able to get a report. Ask the agency that took the report if you are not sure you qualify.

Where to request it

The Kentucky State Police keep the statewide repository of crash reports and sell them through LexisNexis BuyCrash. In Louisville, the Louisville Metro Police Department refers crash report requests to the Kentucky State Police; the Kentucky Attorney General upheld that practice in decision 23-ORD-087.
