Who can get the report
The Nevada Highway Patrol does not state who may buy a crash report. To find one, you need the details listed below.
Where to request it
The Nevada Highway Patrol sells its crash reports online through CrashDocs, linked from its crash report request page. Photos and fatal crash reports come from the regional offices:
- Reno: 775-687-9600
- Elko: 775-753-1111
- Las Vegas: 702-668-4100
For a crash in Las Vegas handled by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, request the report through that department's online portal.
What you need
- The Highway Patrol crash number: the letters NHP followed by 9 digits
- The last name of a person involved
- The date of the crash
Fees and timing
A Highway Patrol report costs $10 on CrashDocs and is available 7 to 14 days after the crash. Photos cost $5 through a regional office. Some guides report that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department charges $12.
If the report is not filed yet
If your report is not on CrashDocs 14 days after the crash, call the regional office for the area where the crash happened.
